WAW 2024

Virtually every human-technology interaction, or sensor network, generates observations that are in some relation with each other. As a result, many data science problems can be viewed as a study of some properties of complex networks in which nodes represent the entities that are being studied and edges represent relations between these entities. Such networks are often large-scale, decentralized, and evolve dynamically over time. Modeling and mining complex networks in order to understand the principles governing the organization and the behaviour of such networks is crucial for a broad range of fields of study, including information and social sciences, economics, biology, and neuroscience.

The aim of the 19th Workshop on Modelling and Mining Networks (WAW 2024) is to further the understanding of networks that arise in theoretical as well as applied domains. The goal is also to stimulate the development of high-performance and scalable algorithms that exploit these networks. The workshop welcomes the researchers who are working on graph-theoretic and algorithmic aspects of networks represented as graphs or hypergraphs and other higher order structures.

WAW 2024 will be held at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics, Building C, Warsaw, Poland.

WAW 2024 will be held at Building C of SGH Warsaw School of Economics (al. Niepodleglosci 128). After entering the building, take stairs up to Lecture hall 1 at entresol (near the bull statue). The venue is in the city center, near Pole Mokotowskie metro station (500m) or Racławicka metro station (450m).

Warsaw is well connected internationally with two airports: Chopin Airport (within the city) and Modlin Airport (outside the city). You can also get to Warsaw by train - exit at Central Railway Station and take metro from Centrum to Pole Mokotowskie station (2 stops). Public transportation in Warsaw entails extensive buses and trams network - ticket system is unified between transportation modes (including metro) with ticket machines available in every vehicle and many stops. Multiple taxi services are available in Warsaw, e.g. Uber, Bolt, FreeNow. The most convenient hotel location is near first metro line (M1) - direct ride from the furthest station to the venue takes around 30 minutes.

Official currency in Poland is Polish Zloty (PLN). There are multiple money exchange points and ATMs. Electronic payments with Visa and MasterCard are accepted in majority of shops and other points of interest.
